Ikechi Okorie is the World Bank's Resident Representative in Eswatini, Eastern and Southern Africa (AFE) Region. He is based in Mbabane, Eswatini.
Mr. Okorie, a Nigerian national, joined the Bank in May 2007 as Advisor to the Vice-President of the Africa Region. He has since held various positions, his most recent assignment being Senior Operations Officer primarily working as Program Coordinator, World Bank Rohingya Response in the South Asia VPU.
In his new position Mr. Okorie¡¯ s top three priorities will be to: (i) manage the Bank¡¯s day-to-day dialogue of operational, policy and program issues in Eswatini in line with the new CPF soon to be submitted to the Board of Directors and support the implementation of the forthcoming Evolution Roadmap; (ii) foster constructive relationships with Government and a wide array of stakeholders; and (iii) provide strategic leadership to the country team.
