Matthieu Rouyer
- International Trade
Matthieu Rouyer is an Analyst with the International Trade topic of the Business Ready Unit. He joined the team in August 2024. Prior to that Matthieu was working on Somalia with the Macroeconomics Trade and Investment GP from 2020-2021, then Poverty and Equity GP from 2023-2024, both in the Prosperity Vertical. He notably contributed to two important World Bank publications: the Country Economic Memorandum 2021 and the Poverty and Equity Assessment 2024. Between these two assignments, he worked as a quantitative analyst for Altai Consulting in Nairobi, delivering data collection projects from tool design to the final outputs. Before that, he was an Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellow in Somaliland, where he supported the government in building up its statistical infrastructure and formulating development plans and policies. Matthieu holds a Master鈥檚 degree in International Economics and Development from Dauphine, Paris Sciences et Lettres University. He is fluent in French and has a working command of Spanish, and conversational knowledge in Italian, Somali, and Swahili.
