Melanie Martinz is an Analyst with the International Trade topic of the Business Ready Unit. She joined the team in July 2023. Before joining the World Bank Group, Melanie worked on digital trade policy at the St. Gallen Endowment for Prosperity through Trade. She is pursuing a PhD in Political Science at the University of Innsbruck, focusing on international trade policy. Melanie holds a Master's degree in European and International Studies from the University of Innsbruck, where her thesis won the Best Thesis Award from the Austrian Political Science Association, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Vienna. Alongside her studies, Melanie worked as a Research Assistant on projects in trade policy, European constitutional law, and climate change. She speaks German and Spanish.
