The proposed activity would support the preparation of needs assessment; the roadmap for fleet modernization; and design a pilot for decarbonization of the Inter-Island ferry transport in the Philippines. The activities would include; but not limited to; gap analysis to understand governance; route coverage; the franchising system; energy efficiency and emissions reductions from operations and maintenance of the domestic inter-island ferry transport routes in the Philippines. The activity is a critical step to guide the fleet modernization program necessary to provide reliable and safe maritime connectivity while contributing to GHG emissions reduction.
