The specific objectives are as follows:* a)      To review existing ALDFG data and identify/apply appropriate methods in each of the 3 countries to ensure comprehensive national baseline assessments on ALDFG and other marine plastics used in coastal fisheries and mariculture.* b)      To develop a cumulative situational analysis of the extent of ALDFG and other marine plastics used in coastal fisheries and mariculture at a sub-regional level.* c)      To develop GIS-based heatmaps to identify hotspots of ALDFG and other marine plastics.* d)      To conduct detailed legal; policy and institutional analysis to:i.                    deliver a comprehensive gap analysis of the legal; regulatory and policy frameworks of the three countries; relating to the governance of ALDFG.ii.                   identify potential circular economy solutions to address plastic leakage and pollution from coastal fisheries and mariculture; in addition to areas for regional-level collaboration.iii.                 Identify institutional and investment opportunities to improve identification; registration; monitoring; and enforcement across the coastal fishery fleets in each of the 3 countries with the aim of reducing ALDFG. * e)      To create an action plan to address marine plastic pollution from coastal fisheries and mariculture in each of the 3 countries; outlining a roadmap for successful implementation.* f)       To disseminate the results of this study across the 3 countries and the wider SE Asia region and support them in adopting and informing their positions with respect to negotiations on the Global Plastics Treaty.
