Africa faces a housing deficit estimated at over 80 million units. The annual supply of housing units; however; is far short of the immense demand. Many African countries and cities continue to experience rising rates of urbanization with infrastructure development not keeping at pace and therefore exacerbating the challenge of inadequate housing. This makes housing a key priority for the World Bank Group (WBG) in Africa. Namibia is one of the World Bank Group¡¯s joint representation countries in Africa. The WBG implementation team is looking to hire an experienced firm to conduct thorough market research and analysis of the housing sector value chain in Namibia encompassing supply; demand; housing finance; market challenges; and opportunities with a goal of unlocking the country¡¯s housing sector potential. The deep dive assessment is expected to cover the regulatory and institutional framework for housing and housing finance; the housing market demand and supply; the finance demand and availability as well as the property management and maintenance and provide key recommendations.
