Beatrice Maser is a Swiss Ambassador currently serving as Executive Director at the World Bank Group in Washington DC, representing the constituency of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Poland, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Switzerland. Before joining the World Bank¡¯s Executive Board, she worked for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) as Special Representative for Western Europe in Paris and as Regional Director for the MENA region in Cairo.
From 2015 - 2019 she was the Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam and headed Switzerland¡¯s Economic Cooperation and Development from 2008 -2015. During this time, she served as the Swiss Governor of the AfDB, ADB, IDB, MIGA, and as IDA-Deputy and was leading Switzerland¡¯s work with the World Bank Group.
Previously, she headed Switzerland¡¯s Export and Investment Promotion, including leading the Swiss delegation at the Paris Club and the OECD Export Credit Arrangement. From 2001 ¨C 2004 she worked at the European Development Bank (EBRD) in London. In 1995 she joined the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, after having worked as Credit Consultant in Bolivia. In 1990 she started her professional career at Swiss Bank Corporation in Zurich, Switzerland, and New York City, USA.
Beatrice Maser completed a Master¡¯s Degree in Architecture and Postgraduate Studies on developing countries at the Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland and holds an Executive MBA in Business Engineering from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
