Ra?it Pertev?is the World Bank¡¯s Country Manager for Chad since July 2020. He was previously Secretary of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He first joined the Bank in 2003 and has worked as Senior Agriculture Economist based in Turkey and in Uganda and most recently as Resident Representative for Comoros. He accumulates more than 25 years of experience in development. Starting with community-driven development in Zambia, he has served as Assistant Secretary General of the International Federation for Agricultural Producers, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Energy and Chief Negotiator for UN Peace Talks in Cyprus. A former refugee, Ra?it holds a Master¡¯s degree in Economics from University of Cambridge and a Master¡¯s in Development Economics from University of London.?
