  • Teachers are the single most important driver of how much students learn. They have the responsibility to ensure that all children¡ªeach with their own challenges and potential¡ªcan learn effectively and have an enriching experience in school. ľ¹ÏÓ°Ôº is working with countries to ensure that every child is taught by a competent, empowered and motivated teacher. Join us for the unveiling of new resources to help countries build a cadre of effective teachers developed under Ä¾¹ÏÓ°Ôº Global Platform for Successful Teachers, and a discussion on the best ways to support teachers during and after the pandemic.

    BACKGROUND


    The event will include short presentations on the progress towards ensuring every child is taught by an effective teacher followed by a panel discussion with Jaime Saavedra, Global Director of the Education Global Practice, , Tata Chancellor's Professor of economics at the University of California, San Diego, , the winner of the 2020 Global Teacher Prize, , South Africa Department of Basic Education, and , Managing Director of The Education Partnership Centre, on the best ways to support teachers during and after the pandemic. The discussion will be moderated by , Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Development.
