Languages at risk in Latin America and the Caribbean

42 million indigenous people live in Latin America and the Caribbean. 560 indigenous languages are spoken, but 1 out of 5 indigenous populations have lost their native language over the past few decades. 26% of indigenous languages are at risk of disappearing.
