In 2010, Kazakhstan launched its electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system with a view to improving and facilitating transparency and effective spending of public funds. Since then, public procurement has dramatically improved - ultimately saving over $1.3 billion in budget spending. Today, the e-GP system has more than 20,000 public entities and 160,000 registered potential suppliers both from Kazakhstan and other countries. The procurement process has seen a significant reduction in time, cost, and paperwork.
