Anna Bjerde, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, discusses Kazakhstan¡¯s path to a green economy, and stresses the importance of a just transition to cleaner energy that focuses on people. Ms. Bjerde also touches upon the Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) ¡ª undertaken jointly by the World Bank and Kazakhstan ¡ª that will help inform the country¡¯s approach and strategy in pursuing green, sustainable growth. This video was recorded during Ms. Bjerde's visit to Nur-Sultan in November 2021, where she participated in a brainstorming session with Prime Minister Askar Mamin. This session brought together government officials, World Bank experts, and representatives from the private sector, to explore possibilities for decarbonizing Kazakhstan¡¯s economy.
