Tajikistan is Protecting People and Livelihoods from Disasters with World Bank Support

Tajikistan is highly prone to natural disasters, ranking first in the Europe and Central Asia region in terms of vulnerability to climate change. In 2017 the World Bank allocated $50 million from the International Development Association (IDA) for the Strengthening Critical Infrastructure Against Natural Hazards Project. In this video we talk about the results of the project and show how it is helping Tajikistan protect people and livelihoods from natural disasters and increase resilience to climate change. The project is implemented with technical and financial assistance from the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) and the Japan-World Bank Program for Mainstreaming Disaster Risk Management in Developing Countries.
