Astrid Zwager joined DIME in 2011 and is a Research Officer in DIME¡¯s Economic Transformation & Growth unit. She works on the design and implementation of large-scale policy experiments within DIME's extensive rural transformation portfolio. In her role she focusses on supporting governments and development practitioners in setting up research agenda¡¯s tailored to their evidence needs and the generation and use of rigorous evidence to inform development programs.
Her research focusses on topics like agricultural technology adoption, access to markets, food security and infrastructure. She also works on education related topics. She coordinates a country research program in Mozambique and a large window of work on School Feeding with the World Food Programme. She has previously worked in Brazil, Mozambique, The Gambia and Malawi. Astrid holds a master¡¯s degree in economics from the University of Amsterdam.
