Issam Abousleiman

World Bank Director for Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru, Latin America and Caribbean

Issam Abousleiman is the World Bank's Country Director for Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru.   

Mr. Abousleiman, a Lebanese national, has more than 25 years of experience in the organization in the strategic areas of country management, corporate finance and international capital markets.   

He leads operations and strategic alliances to enhance the World Bank's impact on the social and economic development of the four countries, based in Lima.  

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Abousleiman has served as Country Director for the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He has also held various positions at the World Bank, including World Bank manager for Colombia and Venezuela and global head of Financial Advisory and Banking. His regional experience spans Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

Mr. Abousleiman is a graduate of the Harvard University Executive Management program and holds an MBA in finance and investment from George Washington University, as well as an MBA in management from the American University of Beirut. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
