Kinnon Scott


Kinnon Scott, a US national, joined the Bank in the Poverty and Human Resources Division. Since then, she has held Economist and Senior Economist positions in the Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC) where she managed the Living Standards Measurement Study, and in the Latin America and Caribbean unit of the Poverty and Equity Global Practice. Before moving to Honduras, Kinnon was acting Program Leader for Central America.

Kinnon graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a PhD in Economic and Social Development and a master¡¯s degree in Urban and Regional Planning.

She has worked in all regions of the world during her career, including Bosnia-Herzegovina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Panama, Timor Leste, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela, where she led initiatives on micro-data for measuring poverty, inequality and shared prosperity, economic and social mobility, a global study on financial capability, and a regional study on migration and remittances. She has also taught at Georgetown University and the University of Virginia.
