Laura Di Giorgio is Senior Economist at the World Bank, where she joined as a Young Professional. She brings more than a decade of experience working in development and conducting health system research. She regularly engages in policy dialogue to advise countries on the design and deployment of health system strengthening reforms through technical and financial assistance. She leads a wide range of analytical engagements and specializes in health financing issues, including health resource tracking, provider payment systems, and efficiency of service delivery.
Her work experience spans across various regions, including Europe, Africa, South Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean, where she currently works. Prior to joining the World Bank, Laura provided strategic advisory services on health financing issues to health system leaders in Latin America and led economic analyses for the introduction of innovative health technologies in the Africa region. She holds a PhD in Economics and Post-Doc in Global Health.
