DIME Research Assistant and Field Coordinator Recruitment Drives

Each year, DIME organizes two large-scale batch recruitment drives, in Fall and Spring. The positions advertised in these drives allow project teams at DIME to hire for the following roles:

  •  
  • Research Assistants ¡ª Work with the research team to support data acquisition, processing, cleaning, and analysis,
  • Field Coordinators ¡ª Supervise implementation of the impact evaluations in the field and liaise with the research team, World Bank operational staff, and Government Officials.
  • Junior Field Coordinators ¡ª Local staff who support Field Coordinators with field supervision and data collection

Development Impact Evaluation (DIME), which is a department in the World Bank¡¯s DEC VPU, is looking for a consultant who will work as a Field Coordinator for Impact Evaluations (IE) of the EAQIP project. Working in collaboration with various partners - including high-level officials at the Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and the World Bank¡¯s Energy Global Practice, the consultant¡¯s work will primarily consist of coordination, communications, supervision and management of the rollout of randomized project activities as well as the planning and supervision of quantitative data collection. The Consultant will also supervise quantitative fieldwork and report on implementation progress to the research team. The Consultant will be responsible for ensuring that every part of the impact evaluation is carried out according to the study design and protocols. On the major filed coordination and supervision issues, the consultant is expected to work independently and to engage with internal and external counterparts with minimum guidance. Required qualifications for the position include at least a master¡¯s degree in economics, public health or related social disciplines; good knowledge of impact evaluation methods, field experience managing impact evaluation and/or data collection in Rwanda and high proficiency in English. The Field Coordinator will be working closely with the following Principal Investigators: Florence Kondylis, John A. Loeser.

World Bank's Development Impact Group (DIME) is looking for a Short-Term Consultant (STC) to 1) carry out data engineering work that utilizes big data platforms to automatically and systematically process and analyze public financial management (PFM) and related development datasets, and to 2) provide technical consultancy on the evaluation and enhancement of public information systems and the generated datasets.

The selected candidate will be offered a short-term consultant (STC) contract for 60 days from October 2024 to February 2025, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project development. The hired consultant will preferably be based in Washington DC, United States, or remote with 4+ hours working overlap with DC. The expected time commitment is 4 working days per week on average for the contracted duration.

ľ¹ÏÓ°Ôº Development Impact department (DIME) is seeking a Field Coordinator to support an impact evaluation of a WFP school feeding program in Madagascar. The position would be a short-term consultancy (STC) of 150 days to be based in Antananarivo, Madagascar. The project aims to better understand how school meal programs can promote health, nutrition, learning, and the creation of human capital, while at the same time stimulate local economies when school meals are procured locally. The field coordinator will oversee liaising between partners and the research team, coordinate the day-to-day implementation of the evaluation, and monitor data collection efforts. Candidates should be available to travel to Madagascar by January 2025, with part or full-time availability in fall 2024 preferred.
