East Africa Impact Evaluation Workshop and Evidence Summit
July 12-14, 2016Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The Strategic Impact Evaluation Fund, the Center for Effective Global Action, the East African Social Science Translation Collaborative, and the University of Dar es Salaam organized a workshop that provided 115 government officials, local researchers, and other development practitioners an overview on impact evaluation and basic training to design impact evaluations that inform project design.  The impact evaluation workshop incorporated a one-day session on translating impact evaluation evidence into news.  This event brought journalists together with researchers from the Center for Effective Global Action and the East African Social Science Translation Collaborative.  The impact evaluation workshop concluded with an evidence summit that featured several events showcasing rigorous evidence and how it is used in East Africa.
