By taking advantage of the visit by World Bank CEO Kristalina Georgieva to attend the conference organized by the Government of Japan on November 1-3, World Bank and Keio University organized a special lecture at Keio University on November 2, 2017. Professor Akira Haseyama, President of Keio University, opened and introduced Georgieva, who talked about global development issues including gender equality and the role of the World Bank Group. Takeshi Fujitani, Director of Audience Engagement and Content Strategy, Asahi Shimbun, moderated Q&A session with the participants, following the lecture.
Prior to the event, Georgieva met with 10 scholars from Asia and Africa currently studying at Keio University¡¯s Graduate School of Business and Commerce, funded by the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) administered by the World Bank in partnership with the Government of Japan.
