Women’s disproportionate participation in unpaid care work and lack of access to quality, affordable childcare often leaves them with less opportunity to engage in paid labor or be more productive. This burden impedes adolescent girls and women from completing school and funnels them into informal and/or lower-paying jobs.
The Latin America and Caribbean Gender Innovation Lab (LACGIL) and the World Bank’s Invest in Childcare Initiative are co-hosting a panel discussion with experts on the key components of Comprehensive Care Systems, and the process and challenges of building such systems in Latin America and the Caribbean, guided through examples of the region.
This engaging session is part of the Insights In Advancing Gender Equality webinar series, which focuses on promoting lessons learned and practical solutions to address gender equality in LAC.
