In 2019, Mozambique signed a landmark agreement with the World Bank¡¯s Forest Carbon Partnership Facility that rewards community efforts to reduce carbon emissions by tackling deforestation and forest degradation. The Emissions Reductions Payment Agreement (ERPA) unlocks up to $50 million until 2024 that will help communities, government and stakeholders working to reduce deforestation and forest degradation in the province of Zamb¨¦zia.
