Global Smart City Partnership Program

Overview

The Global Smart City Partnership Program (GSCP) was established in 2018 to help World Bank Group teams and clients to make the best use of data, technologies, and available resources. The program is built on the understanding that technology- and data-driven innovations can:

  • Improve city planning, management, and service delivery
  • Engage citizens
  • Enhance governments¡¯ accountability

Carefully advancing smart cities¡ªwhile protecting privacy rights and promoting inclusion for the poor and marginalized¡ªcan contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the World Bank Group¡¯s twin goals of ending extreme poverty and boosting shard prosperity.

GSCP advises World Bank Group teams and clients as they learn to strengthen city functions and institutional enablers through digital transformation, as described in our Smart City model, below.
