Areas of Work

The new ? focuses on three strategic objectives: 1) end gender-based violence and elevate human capital, 2) expand and enable economic opportunities, and 3) engage women as leaders.?

Within these areas, the LACGIL carries out both ¡®inferential studies¡¯ to identify gender gaps and their drivers and ¡®impact evaluations¡¯ to test solutions to these gaps.

    The LAC region has achieved substantial progress on gender equality in past decades, like declines in fertility and maternal mortality, gender parity in primary school enrollment, and an increase in women¡¯s participation in the workforce and politics, among others.
