SASPP Regional Knowledge Program Thematic Pillars

SASPP reinforces cross-country knowledge work, mutual learning, and exchange of experience between adaptive social protection policymakers in the Sahel. To this end, SASPP¡¯s regional knowledge program is built around five thematic areas, each which contribute to expanding analytical and technical knowledge on adaptive social protection systems and their relevance:

A. Poverty, Vulnerability, and Resilience. Deepening the understanding of the nature of climate-related shocks and their impacts on poverty

B.  Climate-Shock Responsive Delivery Systems. Informing the design and support of the delivery of shock-responsive social protection

C. Productive Inclusion and Women¡¯s Empowerment. Informing the design and implementation of new waves of economic inclusion interventions

D. Fragility and Forced Displacement. Supporting social protection operations in navigating the increased fragility and forced displacement

E. ASP and Human Capital. Understanding how programs can enhance investments in human capital and protect households from divestments in the face of shocks
