LAC Equity Lab: Labor Markets - Youth Outcomes

“NiNis,” from the Spanish “ni estudian ni trabajan” (youth who are neither in school nor employed), remain a sizeable and particularly vulnerable group in the Latin America and the Caribbean region.

This dashboard shows the proportion of youth, by age groups (15-18, 15-24 and 19-24 years old) and gender, that is in school, employed (not in school) and not in school or employment (NiNis). 


The SEDLAC (CEDLAS and WB) harmonization is an effort to increase cross-country comparability. However, methodological changes in the underlying surveys may result in non-comparable data that the harmonization process cannot fully solve.
