Launched in 2016, Building the Evidence on Forced Displacement is a research partnership between the United Kingdom's , the , and the World Bank. Spanning across critical thematic areas - education, health, social protection, jobs, gender dimensions, and social cohesion, the program¡¯s findings outline the policy gaps that governments can address the issues arising from forced displacement.? ?
The program is comprised of three main pillars:?
- Global Questions studies, which address the main questions related to forced displacement?
- Impact evaluations, or Operational Support, which measure the effectiveness of programs targeting the forcibly displaced?
- Focus papers, or Policy Support, which address the most pressing policy and theme-specific questions?
In its seven years of advancing research on forced displacement, including by bolstering data collections and innovating research methodologies, the program has published more than 130 research projects and supported 24 researchers in the Young Fellows program. Through its development of partnerships with think-tanks and universities around the world, the program has also inspired more interest in forced displacement, which has led to much more research on this critical issue. ?
