Health outcomes

Health outcomes often correlate with the per capita income or wealth of a populace and PPP-based GDP per capita is used within a modeled estimate used to measure progress towards  which looks to reduce the global maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030. While this ratio can be calculated directly from data collected through vital registration systems, household surveys, or other sources there are often data availability and quality issues, particularly related to the underreporting and misclassification of maternal deaths. The modeled estimates were produced to fill in these gaps (figure 6.4).
