Our constituency is amongst the most diverse of those represented in the World Bank. We represent both donor countries, as well as client countries with hugely varied needs, ranging from landlocked Mongolia to the small island states of the Pacific. Our positions on issues before the Bank Board represent this diversity of interests, and we work to build a constructive consensus on matters under consideration. While promoting the interests of all Bank members, we place a particular priority on the issues facing small island states, given the challenges posed by geographic isolation, limited populations and vulnerability to natural disasters. We also have a strong interest in the Bank’s financial sustainability and its ability to deliver for its clients.
